Humberside Breast Screening Service has installed a Philips MicroDose mammography unit to boost its breast screening programme. The system has recently been delivered to Health Central in Hull, East Yorkshire; an integrated healthy living centre offering a range of lifestyle, public engagement and screening services including breast mammography imaging. MicroDose Smart AEC continuously adjusts radiation exposure depending on the density of the breast, providing a totally automated correct exposure without the need for pre-exposures, AEC adjustment or specific positioning.

A routine inspection of 16, mammograms made by the Humberside Breast Screening Service between April and March showed some did not meet quality standards.
